Tarangire National Park is Tanzania's sixth largest national park and one of its best-kept secrets. Named after the Tarangire River that winds through it, the park is famous for its massive elephant herds - some of the largest gatherings in the world - and its iconic landscape dotted with ancient baobab trees.

During the dry season (June to October), the Tarangire River becomes a vital lifeline, drawing thousands of animals from the surrounding ecosystem. This creates spectacular wildlife concentrations rivaling even the Serengeti, with far fewer tourists.

Beyond elephants, expect to see lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 550 bird species. The park's swamp areas attract water-dependent species, while the varied terrain - from rolling savannah to dense woodland - ensures every game drive is unique.
